Prestigo Change-oNo one said this was going to be easyThis suuuucks! Why’s everything have to be such a (wheeze!) pain in the be-hind? I mean, it’s not the Middle Ages anymore! I shouldn’t be expected to bust my hump doing MANUAL LABOR every time I want the simplest thing! (Wheeze!)
Like with this (wheeze!) Prestigo universal remote! What, every time I want to change the channel on my TV, or adjust the volume, or listen to the radio, or watch something from my DVR library, I have to press a button with my thumb? (Wheeze!) By HAND? Maaaan, I’ve only been watching TV for six hours and my thumb is already like (wheeze!) totally worn out! Shouldn’t there be TVs that I can control by blinking, or with my thoughts or something? I’m tiiiired! Why do I have to slave over this remote every time I want to change channels?
Plus the transmission angle is only (wheeze!) 90 degrees! That means some of the time, if it’s not pointed within a 180-degree range of the television already, I can’t just poke at it with one finger; I have to actually PICK IT UP and aim it! Yes, with my arm muscles! (Wheeze!) Do you know how hard that is? I’m getting winded just thinking about it. Thankfully the Judge Judy Marathon is on, so I won’t have to worry about that possibility for another four hours, anyway.
I guess it’s nice that this remote combines functions for common multi-step activities like “watch a movie” or “listen to CD.” When I (wheeze!) push the “watch a movie” button, it does all the right stuff: turns on the TV, switches on the amplifier and selects the right input, turns on the the (wheeze!) DVD player and start playing. But how does that DVD get in the player in the first place? I’ll tell you (wheeze!)—I PUT IT IN THERE. Yeah, manually! I had to (wheeze!) lumber over there and PHYSICALLY LOAD IT IN! And if I ever want to watch a different DVD? You guessed it, I have to UNLOAD that one and REPEAT the same process with a different disc. (Wheeze!) That’s why I’ve seen Just Married seventeen times since Monday.
But also, check it out: This remote can only control my TV, VCR, satellite, DVD, tuner, CD player, TiVo and receiver, plus (wheeze!) some other stuff! What if I want dinner? For that I have to PICK UP a phone and actually HOLD IT TO MY HEAD the whole time I’m telling them what kinds of pizza I want! It’s EXHAUSTING. (Wheeze!) And what if I drop the rag-on-a-stick that I use to periodically sweep the feces out from underneath my body and onto the floor beside my easy chair? I HAVE TO GET UP AND FETCH IT MYSELF, that’s what! (Wheeze!)
